The VIVIT Tissue Clearing Kit provides an all-in-one solution for preparing ex vivo thick tissues for 3D imaging. It is compatible with a wide range of complex tissue types, enabling stable clearing of phospholipid-rich samples (such as brain tissue) and highly heterogeneous specimens (such as tumors).
Tissue Clearing Reagents
TP MedTech’s clearing reagents are based on our self-developed ionic liquid–based technology that achieves tissue transparency with minimal deformation and crystal-free preservation, while maintaining native structure. This overcomes common issues in conventional clearing, such as tissue distortion, signal loss, and ice-crystal damage.
Our reagents are compatible with multi-modal staining, allowing researchers to label carbohydrates, nucleic acids, and proteins in the same sample over multiple rounds, providing a solid foundation for high-quality imaging and following analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need special containers for tissue clearing? No. Common laboratory containers made of polypropylene, polyethylene, or glassware can be used.
-
Can fresh tissue be cleared directly without fixation? No. Performing tissue clearing without fixation may cause disruption of the relative positions of cells and negatively affect subsequent procedures such as immunostaining. Therefore, samples must be fixed before clearing.
-
Can long-preserved fixed samples be used for tissue clearing?Yes. This product can be used for samples that have been immersed in fixative for several weeks, as well as samples that were fixed and stored at –80 °C for several months. However, if immunostaining is planned, long-term preserved fixed samples may exhibit reduced staining efficiency of target proteins.
-
How can I roughly estimate the amount of reagent needed for a sample? As an example, for a 1 mm-thick mouse brain slice, the recommended amount of each reagent is approximately 2 mL. When tissues contain large amounts of residual blood, high lipid content, or are thicker than average, the total reagent consumption may increase accordingly.
-
What is the refractive index (RI) of ionic liquid matching reagent IL5-S/IL5-C?The RI of IL5-S/IL5-C is 1.500–1.508. Do not mix IL5-S/IL5-C with other solvents (such as water), as this may alter the refractive index and compromise the observation of cleared samples.
-
What is the refractive index (RI) of ionic liquid matching reagent IL2.5-S/IL2.5-C?The RI of IL2.5-S/IL2.5-C is 1.538–1.545. Do not mix IL2.5-S/IL2.5-C with other solvents (such as water), as this may alter the refractive index and compromise the observation of cleared samples.
-
How long does the delipidation process take? For adult mouse brain slices, delipidation at 37 °C takes approximately 12–16 hours. For visceral tissues such as lung, heart, stomach, liver, and kidney, gradient delipidation is required, taking about 8–16 hours.
-
Can immunofluorescence-stained tissues be cleared?Yes. To clear immunofluorescence-stained tissues, please select the corresponding kit. It is also recommended to use DSG reagent for cross-linking after primary and secondary antibody staining.
